Residents of Rera Village,Gem Wagai sub county have decried on the increasing numbers of monkeys destroying their crops on the farms.
Speaking to DALA FM Mr. Julius Jakoyo Owak noted that the monkeys have allegedly destroyed crops and fruits in the village and their efforts to chase them away have bore no fruit.
He expressed his fears of planting this season as the monkeys are increasing in numbers and even coming to their compounds to eat avocado and paw paw fruits.
He therefore, appealed to Kenya Wildlife Services, Siaya to intervene and move the monkeys to an appropriate location citing that they don’t have to beg yet they have ability of producing theirs.
