The church had told politicians to shelve early campaigns ahead of the 2022 general election.
Nyanza clergy Chairman Bishop Ogonyo Ngede said 2022 was still a long way and it was bad for the politicians to put the country in an election mood.
Ngede said the remaining years should be dedicated for development instead and championing for political interest.
He said politicians should concentrate on matters affecting Kenyans and stop premature campaigns that will take Kenya nowhere.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu, Ogonyo also warned against using youths to cause chaos since that will expose them to death and injuries.
He said some politicians had resorted to use money to woo voters on their side.
Ogonyo said only God will choose a leader who will rule after President Uhuru Kenyatta retires and not that person who splashes money to voters.
He said God loves Kenya and will give a leader who will take the country to greater heights.
