Kisumu West MP Rosa Buyu has announced that she will continue offering full scholarships to students who were recruited under the former MP Olago Aluoch.
Buyu assured parents whose children were benefiting from the scholarship that the program will not be scrapped.
She said her administration will ensure that all the students under full and partial scholarship will have their education catered for until they finish.
Speaking to the press at Ojola in her constituency, Buyu said she will add another team of students, bright orphans to sponsor their education.
The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Chairman Ben Odondi said they will spend Sh. 2 million annually to pay for the scholarships.
Odondi said they could not discontinue the program since it helps the children of Kisumu West.
Parents hailed the continuation of the program since they were doubting if the new MP would continue with programs started by the former MP.
The students were not left behind in showing their happiness as they promised to work hard as they narrate how their parents could not afford to pay their fees in high schools, college and universities.
