Migori county residents had been encouraged to wash their hands regularly in a bid to help control various diseases related lack of hygiene.
That was according to Migori County public health director Dr.Kennedy Ombogo who said that the hand washing habit should be embraced by everyone since it had help so many people in controlling such diseases like cholera and the now covid-19 pandemic.
While speaking to press at Kitere primary school in Rongo Sub County during the county hand washing day celebrations Dr.Ombogo said that they had lost a big percentage of people because of such diseases which can be controlled by washing of hands regularly.
He at the same time said that they had realized low percentage of sicknesses like cholera, among other lack of hygiene diseases since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic saying so many people were washing their hands regularly as well as maintaining hygiene which he urged the residents of Migori to continue observing as that was the only way they could avert such kind of diseases for healthy living.
He took the opportunity to say that as public health they will still continue to advocate for the covid-19 containment measures saying the spread of the virus was still increasing hence calling on the residents to unite together in a bid to flatten the curve and have the lives of the residents go back to normal as it was before.
